Purposes of data processing

We only process your personal data stored by us for the purposes stated in this privacy policy. We do not share your personal data with third parties except in the following instances:

  • You have given us your express consent to this
  • It is required to process a contract with you
  • To fulfil legal obligations

We also process personal data if there is a legitimate interest in doing so and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection with respect to your data not being processed or disclosed.

Data collection while visiting our websites

Information about your web browser is automatically collected and stored when you visit our websites. The following information is collected, amongst other data: the web browser used, the operating system used, the domain name of the internet service provider and other information of a general nature that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you as an individual.

It is necessary, on a technical level, for this data to be exchanged so that we can correctly deliver the website content you have requested. The web server–web browser exchange ensures the following, among other aspects:

  • Straightforward connection to the website
  • Smooth use of the website
  • Evaluations for stability and security

This anonymous information needs to be evaluated so that we can optimise our websites and the associated technology.

Cookies and similar technologies

‘Cookies’ are small text files that are transmitted by the web server to your web browser and stored on the hard drive. Cookies are used for purposes such as saving your settings so that they can be retrieved automatically at a later date. This includes, for example:

  • Saving the items in the shopping basket
  • Saving form content
  • Saving settings (e.g. language settings)
  • Saving analytics data

You can prevent or restrict the use of cookies by adjusting the appropriate settings in your web browser. If you do not permit cookies, certain features may no longer work as expected/as usual.

Fee-based services and offers

It may be necessary for us to receive and process your payment details, such as credit card numbers, so that you can take advantage of our fee-based services and offers. We only store this data for the fulfilment of the order. Unless you request otherwise, this data will be deleted subsequently.

Secure websites with HTTPS

Data is transmitted on our websites in partly encrypted form. Encrypted transmission can be identified by the HTTPS and the lock icon in the web browser address bar (input bar). The encryption is intended to prevent the transmitted content from being read. The encryption methods used correspond to the current state of the art.

Contact form and email

If you contact us using the contact form or via email, we will receive your email address and, if necessary, further information for the purpose of this contact. We use this email address for the purpose of processing the request and possibly conducting a follow-up conversation. The emails and addresses remain stored on our computers for possible future contact. If you do not want your emails and address to be stored on our computers, please let us know and we will remove them (where permitted by law).

Social Media Icons

Social media icons such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest are sometimes placed on our websites. These icons are inactive and only contain links to the corresponding services. If you are logged into the relevant service, e.g. Facebook, it will log your browsing behaviour and use the information to send you advertisements that are relevant to you, for example. The responsibility for the personal user data then lies with this operator and is handled in accordance with its privacy policy.

Retention of personal data

We store and process your personal data for as long as necessary. The duration depends on:

  • The duration of the entire business relationship
  • Contractual obligations
  • The statutory retention and documentation obligation

If your personal data is no longer required for the aforementioned purposes, it will be deleted to the extent possible.

Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy is continuously adapted to take the latest interpretations of the law and changes to our services into account. The current version is indicated by the date at the beginning of this policy. The current version is always valid.
